I Use AI Every Day. Here’s What Nobody Tells You About It.

Yes, I'm aware of the irony of writing a blog post about AI with the help of AI. I'm not going to pretend otherwise — I use these tools constantly in my work, and after enough hours across all the major ones, I've picked up on real differences worth sharing. Consider...

How to Spot and Report Facebook Impersonation Scams

I Played Along to See What Happened I accepted a friend request from someone I haven't thought about in 50 years. I knew it was almost certainly a scammer the moment I saw the profile. Here's what I learned when I deliberately played along for a day—and how to...

Frequently Asked Questions

My printer won't print. What do I do?

Start simple: restart the printer, then restart your computer. Check that the printer isn’t reporting an error (paper jam, low ink, offline status) on its own screen or lights. If it still won’t print, check that it’s selected as your default printer in your device’s settings — sometimes a software update quietly switches this. Still stuck? Text me.

My email isn't sending or receiving.

First, check your internet connection — try loading a website to confirm you’re actually online. If you are, sign out of your email and back in. Double-check you haven’t hit a storage limit (a full inbox can block new mail from coming in). If it’s still not working after that, it may be a settings issue on the account itself — that’s a quick fix for me.

My WiFi keeps dropping or won't connect.

Restart your router (unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in) — this fixes more WiFi problems than anything else. If that doesn’t help, restart the device you’re trying to connect, and make sure you’re connecting to the right network name if your router shows more than one.

My computer is running really slow.

Restart it — genuinely, this solves more than people expect, especially if you haven’t restarted in days or weeks. After that, check how many programs are open in the background, and make sure your device isn’t overdue for a software update, since pending updates can quietly slow things down until they’re installed.

A device or accessory (like a wireless mouse, headphones, or keyboard) won't connect.

Check the batteries first — a weak or dead battery is the most common cause of a “disconnected” accessory, even when the device still lights up. Swap in fresh batteries (or charge it, if it’s rechargeable) before troubleshooting anything else. If it’s still not connecting, turn Bluetooth off and back on, then try reconnecting. Still no luck? “Forget” the device in your Bluetooth settings and pair it again from scratch — that fixes most stubborn pairing issues.

A website's text or font looks way too small (or too big).

This is almost always a browser zoom setting, not your device. Try Ctrl and 0 (Windows) or Cmd and 0 (Mac) to reset zoom to default, or Ctrl/Cmd plus + or - to adjust it manually.

A website looks broken, or a page won't load correctly.

Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, then close and reopen the browser completely. Websites update behind the scenes, and your browser sometimes holds onto an old, outdated version of the page until you clear that out.

I forgot my password and can't log in.

Use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page — most accounts can reset instantly through your email. If you don’t have access to the email on file for that account, that’s a more involved fix, so reach out and we’ll sort it out together.

My camera or microphone isn't working on a video call (Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, etc.).

Check that the app actually has permission to use your camera and microphone in your device’s privacy settings — this is the most common cause, especially after an update. Also confirm you selected the correct camera/mic in the call software itself if you have more than one device connected.

My screen froze and nothing is responding.

Give it a minute — sometimes a program is just working hard in the background. If it’s still frozen, a full restart (holding the power button down if needed) almost always clears it. If this is happening often, it’s worth having someone take a look at what’s causing it.

Didn’t Fix it?

Some problems just need a second set of eyes. If a quick fix doesn’t do the trick, book a discovery call if you’re a new customer or Schedule Service if you are a current customer.  Or send me a text — most issues like these get sorted out the same day.
